“For you love to have the seat of honour in the synagogues.”
Luke 11: 42-46
Have you ever thought of the reason why you do most of what you do in church? I know I wanted to be an Altar Server because they got a lot of attention. I joined the youth group because there was a boy I liked. I got involved in SVP to lime my best friend and joined Legion of Mary to kill time after school.
I was not looking to be a goody two shoes but somewhere along the journey by making these choices, I learnt to love God and people. I learnt the value of kindness and the joy of the Lord; I valued giving of my time and talents to express my love and gratitude to Jesus.
Sometimes we do not realize that we are going down the wrong path especially if you are a leader in the parish. But if you do all these things Jesus asks that we just ensure that there is justice and love. If you make those your guiding light then everything falls in line.
