Living the virtue of chastity as a single or married person helps with the use of the Billings Ovulation Method. Chastity is a virtue (like courage or honesty) that applies to a person’s sexuality. It means that you order your sexual desires according to the demands of real love.
True love does what is best for their beloved: keep them from harm, make heroic sacrifices for them (Pure Manhood by Jason Evert).
Living out this virtue nowadays is considered counter-cultural or even strange. But if we truly want real love to outweigh fake love (or lust), we need to make the effort to choose a lifestyle with chastity being exercised.
Now that the ‘Love or Lust?’ seminar is over, here are the activities suggested/planned to follow.
We recommend going to Confession. Confession to a priest is an act of saying sorry to God in a genuine way. It is suggested you call your parish and enquire when Confessions are available.
We have distributed free chastity materials for those who registered for the seminar. Among the materials we have distributed are booklets, bookmarks, wallet cards and CDs. There is even a CD just for parents!
If registrants were not able to collect the materials over the past week, they can contact us for an alternative collection day and time. If you would like to donate monetarily towards more chastity materials for families, please go to https://missionariesofchastity.com/project_details/trinidad-and-tobago-chastity-project
As a family, you could participate in our ‘Love and Life Family Game’. This is an online game that families of three to five persons can enter. Families will have the opportunity to talk about Love and Life, have fun and learn at the same time! This game was scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 2 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. online.
The ‘Children Are Gift’ seminar offered by the Archdiocesan Family Life Commission (AFLC) teaches about the stages of development of children and empowers parents to talk about sexuality. It assists parents to know what to say, not for a single conversation but an ongoing conversation about sexuality. All in the context of love!
Young adults and adults, 16 plus, are welcome to join ‘Real Love 101’ to learn more about living out the virtue of chastity. This initiative started Thursday, September 16 from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will run every Thursday night until December. New persons are welcome!
We invite youths and young adults to join a group where you will not feel alone in your journey of life. The Catholic Youth Commission (CYC) is linked to several groups and programmes you can join.
Finally, some young people may not feel comfortable in a group just yet. Perhaps you want to talk to an adult who can guide you in the virtue of chastity. If you are interested in a mentor, please let us know.
Perhaps you would like to become a Chastity Speaker or a Missionary of Chastity. We will direct you to training resources.
Registration for any of these suggested follow-up activities is available through our website, isloveforever.com
