She has inspired many through her “Little Way” to love God and neighbour.
Matthew 18: 1 – 5
Jesus presenting a child as the model of greatest to the disciples when they asked seems a most fitting image for this feast of St. Therese of the Child Jesus. Therese was a ‘child’ herself when she died, only 24 years old. The Church presents her today, in her child-like simplicity and humility as a model for us to follow.
Therese was constantly moved by charity. She said, “Charity gave me the key to my vocation. I understood that the Church had a Heart and that this Heart was burning with love… O Jesus, my love… my vocation, at last I have found it… My vocation is love.”
Children love with all their heart. Through St. Therese of the Child Jesus, the Lord is asking us to love with all our heart. She has inspired many through her “Little Way” to love God and neighbour. May she inspire us today.
