Missionaries are not moved by their own desires but by God’s will for the world.
Luke 8:1-3
Jesus’ missionary spirit and practice made him avoid anchoring or looking for personal comforts. His missionary zeal made him want to reach out and minister to other towns and villages. By reaching out and going to different places he set the standard for kingdom life. Therefore, no disciple can avoid being a missionary like Jesus.
Missionaries are not moved by their own desires but by God’s will for the world. God’s will is clear, He wants everyone to be saved and come to the knowledge of truth. (1 Tim 2: 4).
Missionaries experience God’s grace and saving love in a personal way. They believe the blessings they received must be shared, thus they reach out to announce this Good News and show God’s compassion.
Missionaries always think of others and at times put them before personal needs. Jesus always put aside his own needs to serve others. The greatest gift we can be to the world is to develop a missionary heart and spirit like Jesus’.
