Thursday September 16th: Go in peace

“… her sins, her many sins, must have been forgiven her…”

Luke 7:37-50

Have you ever felt like an outcast when people had nothing good to say to you or about you, when everyone thought ill of you because of what you might have done? Did you feel you were at the end of your rope and then suddenly someone came along and changed everything?

They accepted you for who you were, they welcomed you, they appreciated you so much that you poured out your soul to them. It was as though you were pouring all your tears in sorrow at their feet. Once done, you were able to wipe those tears with your hair. You felt so humbled it was as though you were kissing their feet, anointing them for what they had done for you.

Touched by your openness and generosity they invited your critics to see you in a different and better light. That chance meeting changed everything so that you were able to go away at peace with yourself and your world.

Thank you, Lord, for this wonderful and humbling experience.
