Saturday August 28th: Well done, good and faithful servant!

I would sit in church and watch the lectors especially at the Easter Tridium and think the church has picked the best and brightest folks to read for the weekend. It was at a Mass some years ago, my then parish priest, Father Kennedy Swarathsingh (no longer a priest), came directly to me and engaged me to actively participate at weekend Mass and particularly in two COR retreats at the parish. I then became a sponsor at RCIA and a member of the confirmation team.
With these responsibilities entrusted to me, I further had the confidence to participate in the Family Life Unit in my present parish, the highlight being a presenter for the Common Sense Parenting program and also being a lector at Mass.
We have been created in the image and likeness of God and each blessed according to our ability. When someone takes a chance on you don’t bury the opportunity for as the song goes “it only takes a spark to get a fire going.”
