But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear.
Matthew 13: 16-17
In today’s world, there is so much to see and hear that we are often blinded. Being able to believe what is truth in our contemporary world is a gift of grace from God. In this pandemic, with all its scientific, physical, and visual evidence, there are many who still don’t believe what the experts say.
For us to see and to hear what God says to us, we must have humble and obedient hearts. Today the Church celebrates the Feast of Sts. Joachim and Anne, parents of Our Lady. This simplicity and obedience made them submit to the wisdom and truth which come from God. They in turn were able to bring Our Lady up in faith just like them and she passed that onto Jesus.
They provide a perfect example for our Christian families – the domestic church to stay together, in faith. Without good and faithful Christian families, the very foundation of church will totter. Many souls will be lost to sin and the evils of this world.
