“Father, keep those you have given me true to your name.”
John 17:11b-19
Imagine if we feared sin more than Covid. To be real, it is scary to leave home, and I suppose it would be great if we could quarantine forever. However, most of us have no choice for we are called to live and work in the ‘world’. Undoubtedly, we are grateful for the frontline workers during such a time as this. They are true examples of what it means to selflessly live their vocation ministering to those in need.
Likewise, is the call of Christ’s army during the even more dangerous sin-demic. In a time of decaying moral and spiritual values, there is need for a revival of Christians consecrated in His truth. Our world needs more essential Christians who are not out of touch with the needs of the people who are spiritually dying. However, to go against the tide is not easy as Jesus has forewarned. Yet, we find consolation in that during his agony, Jesus prayed for his essential workers.
Jesus, protect essential workers from the evil one as they go out into the world. Amen
