Pope Francis is personally encouraging the use of the hashtag #AVaccineforthePoor on Twitter.

“I give my heartfelt thanks to all the generous people who by their contributions, large and small, are making it possible for many brothers and sisters in need to receive the vaccine against COVID.”

The Pope added the hashtag #AVaccineforthePoor and quoted the website www.elemosineria.va, the Vatican’s Office of Papal Charities, which offers charitable assistance to the poor.

The Papal Office is inviting people to make donations online to fund more vaccinations of the neediest and most vulnerable.

In another tweet, Pope Francis says: “The coronavirus has caused much death and suffering, affecting the lives of all, especially those of the most vulnerable. I ask you not to forget those who are most vulnerable.” He repeats the hashtag #AVaccineforthePoor

The Pope also tweeted to recognise the service of “those working tirelessly to combat the pandemic”.

“We must reflect on our health systems and ensure they are accessible to all of the sick, without disparity. #UniteToPrevent”, tweeted  “Pontifex”.
