Thirty-eight receive Holy Communion at Arima Boys’ RC

The memories of First Holy Eucharist celebrated on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Santa Rosa RC, will always be powerful to the 39 boys who participated.

Preparations of classes took place weeks before from the school’s dedicated and hardworking teachers and overseen by Arima Boys’ RC’s Ag PrincipalNavin Harry.

On the day , 38 young men of the Standard Three classes were elegantly dressed in their white, long-sleeved shirts, black trousers, black dress shoes and the school’s blue tie with the printed logo of the school’s monogram and motto of ‘Deeds not Words’.

The sun shone brightly on these blessed young men as the spirit of Jesus was bestowed upon them. With their parents, teachers and well-wishers in attendance, Mass began at 10 a.m. with a beautiful rendition of the Entrance Hymn, ‘Enter Rejoice and Come In’. Fr Andrew Emenike performed an auspicious Mass for approximately one and half hours.

He reminded the boys and their parents during the homily to remain committed in carrying out their duties of receiving the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist not only at that moment but to make it a commitment of their journey with the Lord. At the end of the Mass, the boys were presented with tokens to celebrate their achievement and light

refreshment was served, pictures taken and all this was done whilst ensuring that all COVID-19 protocols were observed. It was indeed a powerful day that these young men will remember.

May God continue to bless and keep them safe as they continue their journey of life—Lisa De Gazon, teacher, Arima Boys’ RC
