“My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me”
John 10: 22-30
A travel enthusiast before the pandemic, I sometimes look at travel videos or tours on YouTube . While searching recently, I came across a video of a group on tour at a sheep farm. The members of the group took turns calling out to the grazing sheep only to be met with animals unbothered and undisturbed , ignoring these strange and sometimes hilarious calls.
Yet , when the farmer called, it was a beautiful and moving sight seeing sheep instantly leaving where they were, no longer interested in chewing on the grass but running in the direction of the farmer, their master, the voice they knew.
May we too, truly be like sheep, choosing to listen only to the voice of the Master, ignoring the lies of the enemy that take up space in our minds filling it with doubt, fear and anxiety in the midst of the pandemic. May we choose to listen only to Jesus and His promises, that He will not forsake us, that He will not allow the enemy to snatch us away. He is fighting for us.
