From one plant came two branches—one full of green leaves, the other a stick. As I pondered how from one root there were two different outcomes, I pondered on the power of choice!
Deuteronomy 30:19: “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore, choose life, that you and your offspring may live”. Each day we have a choice before us: to live a defeated life, allowing things to eat at us (in the case of the pic below some very naughty ants) allowing circumstances to drain us of our joy, seeing things as obstacles in our way…

We can see each challenge as a way to get stronger, something new to conquer, more muscle to build. We can start each day in hope and live a resurrected life. Which view we take is up to us, and so is the result.
Today, let’s choose to be green and leafy; let’s choose to overcome; let’s choose to live in the hope and promise of Jesus who said in John 10:10: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly”.
Today the choice is up to you. Know that with God nothing is too far gone to be repaired! Choose to live a life of freedom from burdens and cast your cares on Him because He cares for us.
