On March 13, five of the eight Spiritan Brothers living at Tisserant House of Formation in Arouca: Ronald Abraham CSSp (Zimbabwean), Petros Dasiyano CSSp (Malawian), Eliaza Mulemba CSSp (Malawian), Collins Mwiinga CSSp (Zambian), and Joseph Kalanzi CSSp (Ugandan) took their perpetual vows at a colourful event at Holy Trinity Parish, Arouca.
Fr Gregory Augustine CSSp, Provincial Superior of the Holy Ghost Fathers (Spiritans) in Trinidad and Tobago received the vows of the five finally professed Brothers.
Also witnessing and gracing the event were Fr Gregory McLawrence CSSp the Formation Director at Tisserant House and Parish Priest of the Arouca parish, Bishop Emeritus Malcom Galt CSSp, Fr Ronald Mendes CSSp, parishioners and friends.
A week after that, on March 20, three of the perpetually professed Brothers: Abraham, Dasiyano and Mulemba were ordained transitional deacons by Archbishop Jason Gordon.
On both occasions, the relatives, families, and friends of the candidates were following the livestream of the events on YouTube in their respective countries.
The three newly ordained deacons have been in Trinidad and Tobago since August 2018 when they joined the formation programme at Tisserant House and have been studying Theology at the Seminary of St John Vianney and the Uganda Martyrs. They express their deepest gratitude to God for His goodness and to all who have contributed to their journey of formation for the past ten years. —Spiritan Brothers
