Saturday April 3rd: Jesus has risen!

“He has risen! He is not here”

Mark 16: 1-7

Easter is indeed a very exciting time for all Christians. This is evident by packed churches. Hopefully we understand what the passion, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus mean for our salvation: Jesus, Son of God becoming man, in order to die for our sins; a sacrifice of perfect love.
However, the reading states that the three women were alarmed and scared, were trembling and bewildered. They said nothing to anyone about their experience because they were afraid.
I often wonder about the significance of this experience and what it means to all of us. For one thing we must move beyond the material realm to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Secondly, our wish may not always be that of God. They went with spices so that they might anoint the body of Jesus. However, He wanted them to meet Him in Galilee. From thereafter they will grow to appreciate what we call Easter.
Almighty Father, may this Easter transform our lives to meet your desire for us.
