God is the source of all there is and is responsible for all there is.
Mark 12: 28 – 34.
When the scribe asked Jesus what is the first of all the commandments, he said it is love – love of God and neighbour. While we cannot be commanded to love, if we choose not to we would go against the very heart of Christian living and witness.
God is the source of all there is and is responsible for all there is. There is no debate whether we should put Him first in our lives. It is a given. We demonstrate the primacy of God in our lives when we pray the Creed whose first article is: “I believe in God the Father”. Everything else flows from that.
Anyone who genuinely puts God first will be so joyful and happy they will burst if they do not share it. Loving God naturally leads to loving one’s neighbour. Even if we are not bosom buddies God’s love helps us to rise above any challenge. And even if we are enemies God’s love helps us to forgive.
