“Every first-born male is to be consecrated to the Lord”

Luke 2:22 -40

This year dedicated to St Joseph will see a greater focus on his role in salvation; his personality, humility, obedience to God and his listening ability. A man of peace, a man for our times!
In today’s gospel we are exposed to his desire to follow the law of Moses. He took Mary and Jesus to Jerusalem for the Presentation of Jesus to the Lord, the first-born male. We are also told about Simeon and Anna, two devout followers of God. Both being able to meet and prophesy about Jesus.
The Feast of the Presentation therefore has significance for us as we examine our relationship with God. Are we meeting our obligations, making the Lord known by our lives and bringing others to Him?
As the Presentation Brothers celebrate their Feast day, we thank God for all they have done in the Caribbean especially in the field of education, for which many of us are truly thankful
To God be the Glory.
