Parish priest at St Charles’ RC Church, Tunapuna, Fr Ian Taylor is extending thanks to all who communicated their concern and prayers concerning the break in at the Church in the wee hours of Monday morning.
Fr Taylor confirmed that between 2 and 3 a.m., bandits broke into the parish hall and his office and stole the parish vehicle, an ash gray Honda HRV, three road bikes, two speakers and the parish projector.
“By the grace of God and …. the police, the car was retrieved,” Fr Taylor said in a message on the Church’s Facebook page.
However, the message continued, “the bandits have the key and also the key for the conference room. We pray for the breaking of that criminal ring among the young men in this Tunapuna community and for conversion as well.” He concluded saying he is “fine” and “slept well” last night and shall continue to do so in the name of Jesus Christ.
In November 2020, there was a robbery at that same compound in which a nun and two parishioners were robbed of cash, cellphones and jewellery by armed bandits
