We too, like Jesus, will encounter the same when seeking to do God’s will.
Mark 3:20-21
Jesus chose his disciples. He sent them out. Signs and wonders were worked among them. Great numbers heard what was happening and the Pharisees began to plot against Him.
Jesus’ work caused concern amongst his family. They thought He was out of His mind. Jesus’ focus is always on the Kingdom.
When one makes the decision to follow Jesus, there is always conflict. Your encounter with Jesus causes conflict and you are sometimes regarded as someone who has lost his mind.
Followers of Jesus must take up their cross.
Conflict always initiates transformation of the social order. Family always seeks resolution. In the same way they sought to bring Jesus home.
This happens because it invades territory and causes cultures to change, hence there is confrontation with family.
We too, like Jesus, will encounter the same when seeking to do God’s will.
God’s will demands change in the normal way of living and it challenges us to experience a new understanding of who Jesus is.
