“Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11: 28-30
I often wonder about people who don’t believe in God. Life can be challenging, overwhelming at times. How do they manage; how do they cope? What do they hold on to in the face of trials and tribulations? Who or what helps them to weather the storms? What do the faithless do when faith is needed?
For myself, I know the comfort I find in the rituals I practice as a Catholic. The beliefs of the faith I profess foster hope. I can believe Him when he says to me, through His Word, “Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest,” for I have a God who is faithful.
Faith gives us hope, and we who hope in the Lord shall find rest.
Oh God who strengthens the powerless, give encouragement to your weary people and give us rest for our bodies and our souls.
