Tuesday December 1st: Divine revelation

I bless you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for hiding these things from the learned and clever and revealing them to mere children.

Luke 10: 21-24

And like Jesus we give thanks to the Father for revealing it to them.
The disciples were assured that “nothing shall ever hurt” them as long as they used the name of Jesus. Their names were written in heaven.

Sometimes we are taken aback by the people who seem to grasp a message, any message. They are the ones who are like mere children. They seem to understand what you are trying to explain. And like Jesus we give thanks to the Father for revealing it to them.

Jesus told the disciples quietly, that prophets and kings wanted to see what they saw and never saw it, to hear what they heard and never heard it.

And so we thank God that at times we are the little ones, able to understand what God is trying to say to us. And we ask his forgiveness for the times when we are unable to understand perhaps because we do not know who the Son is or do not know who the Father is.
