Earlier this year, Dr Cecelia Anzures, a long-time friend of Fr Ron Knott, contacted him to inform that she was donating a car to the Diocese of Kingstown. By September, the car, a Smart Fortwo arrived in the diocese. The smart car is now in use at the Cathedral parish.
According to catholicsvg.org, Anzures’ gift followed previous automobile donations from her and her late husband Jeffrey, in the form of a parish van for St Benedict’s and Corpus Christi parishes, a bus for the St Benedict’s Children’s Home and the Bishop’s vehicle.
The kindness of Anzures was first encountered in October 2015 when the couple responded generously to one of Fr Ron’s Second Wind projects, namely World Youth Day 2016 (Krakow).
Since then Bishop Gerard County CSSp of Kingstown has sent numerous expressions of gratitude to them both in response to their frequent contributions to various projects undertaken by Second Wind Guild.
Further discussions with Fr Ron resulted in the establishment of the Catholic Second Wind Guild’s Jeffery Antle Island Educational Fund in June of this year.
