November 22nd: You do it them; you do it to Me

If we do not protect the spread to the least of the brothers, we alter the face of God in the world. Matthew 25:31-46

From Wuhan to here, we stand in judgement. If we do not protect the spread to the least of the brothers, we alter the face of God in the world; and, ‘If you protect the most fragile sister, you protect Me.’

I always prided myself on my strong facial features, adding vigour to my persona. Now I hide my face behind three layers of cloth. No recognition, no acknowledgement. I am not me. To become me, I dedicate my facelessness to those who have always been faceless: the lowest rungs of every country’s social ladder.

I feel the pinch of the elastic on my ears rendering my ears to be cocked forward. This means nothing unless I perk up to the silent cry of my neighbour in distress. My muffled voice does not carry far, so I allow my actions to shout loudly, to scream for justice.

May our breath, filtered through this sieve of life, make us one in spirit. ‘If you do it for them, you do it for Me.’
