November 12th: This is the end times

“For look! The Kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17 20- 25

Tanty Maureen invited me to come to church with her this Sunday. She ask me if I get an appointment to go to my church yet. When I told her no, she said, “Well come by we church nah girl. Listen, we living in the end times yuh know. The Bible say these things will happen. Girl, Jesus coming, yuh doh want to be saved?”
I say, “Tants, remember when you told me that in 1999 with Y2k, and then with Ebola and now with COVID?” Tanty say, “But this time is real girl, I telling you.”
If we believe in the words of today’s gospel that the Kingdom of God is within us, then we would not be looking for a big disaster as a sign of Jesus’ coming. Instead we would choose to be kind to strangers, to be caring and loving to each other and we would do our part to make the world a better place.
