There will be a 24-hour virtual Day of Prayer with the theme Praying through the Storm.
It is scheduled to begin on Friday, November 6 at 6.30 a.m. with Holy Mass celebrated by Archbishop Jason Gordon and end on Saturday 7 at 6.30 a.m. with Holy Mass celebrated by Fr Dwight Merrick.
The event is being organised by Fr Merrick, Valarie Walters, and the National Service Team of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Various archdiocesan ministries are expected to each lead a 30-minute segment of prayer during the 24-hour period using select scripture passages.
Among the organisations invited to lead are the Family Life Commission, the Catholic Religious Education Development Institute (CREDI), the Liturgical Commission, the Youth and Young Adult Commission, the Evangelisation Commission, and the Catholic Commission for Social Justice.
Schools invited include Holy Name Convent, Holy Faith Convent and St Mary’s College. Other groups expected to participate are the Catholic Education Board of Management (CEBM), Servants of Jesus Christ, Towers of Strength, Marriage Tribunal, and Catholic Media Services Ltd (CAMSEL).
Faithful are encouraged to join and participate in this prayer session for the Church and the nation.
The Day of Prayer will be held on the Zoom platform and live streamed for the public via CatholicTT’s YouTube Channel
