Senior deacon dies

The Archdiocese of Castries mourns the passing of Rev Bertrand Clauzel, a permanent deacon for 46 years. After a few months of illness, he died peacefully early on the morning of Wednesday, October 21 at the age of 89. He was a senior deacon in the Archdiocese and oldest of the local permanent deacons, having been ordained on June 30, 1974 and was the only deacon for many years.

He served at the Cathedral, and the St Benedict Parish, Morne Fortune. He is survived by his wife Maggie Elise and their nine children, 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. May his soul rest in peace.
