Youth organise prayer-a-thon

How are citizens responding to 500-plus murders per year? How are we reacting to thousands becoming unemployed through closure of businesses? Are we preparing for a degree of poverty we have not seen since World War II? How are organisations like religious groups responding to the new ways of functioning required by COVID-19 protocols?

In response to these social challenges, the Youth Team of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal team (CCR) is calling on all citizens to join as Church “in the storming of Heaven” with prayer.

Youths and Young Adult Ministries and those who mentor and lead our young people are invited to join in a united call to intercession prayerathon for the restoration of families in Trinidad and Tobago every Sunday.

The CCR initiative commenced October 4 and culminates November 22. Persons are asked to commit to prayer every Sunday at specific one-hour time slots beginning at 6 a.m.

Prayer intentions are for the conversion of family; healing and deliverance of family; peace, love and joy within the family; mercy for Trinidad and Tobago; and the restoration of our economy.

Prayers that can be used include the invocation of the Holy Spirit, songs to the Holy Spirit, praise and worship, the Holy Rosary, the Litany to the Precious Blood and the use of Scripture—claiming the promises and praying the Scripture.
