‘How much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit…’
Luke 11: 5-13
This gospel reading is well known for reminding us that our prayers are always answered. We often, however, become impatient when we pray and do not get what we want.
There are two important things that Jesus reminds us of in this message. The first is that our prayers are always answered. Secondly, that we do not always get what we ask for because our Almighty Father knows what is best for us and gives us what is best.
God knows us better than we know ourselves and he knows that we need the Holy Spirit more than anything else in our lives. In whatever way, then, that our prayer is answered we should be aware that the Holy Spirit is present.
Father, may I have the Faith to know that when my prayer is answered, You have given me what is best for me.
