Dedicated senior teacher remembered

The staff and students of the Cipero RC School mourn the loss of our beloved Acting Senior Teacher, Maxime Holder, who departed this life September 17.  Maxime touched the lives of many throughout her career and gave selflessly to all those in need.

Maxime served as an educator for almost 30 years, having previously been attached to the Anglican Board, but transferred to the Catholic Board in 2015 when she joined us at Cipero and very quickly became an integral part of the school community. She was well loved and well respected.

As an avid TT Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA) member, she was always quick to work with me as Principal, to overcome several of the challenges that came our way, seeking not only the best interest of her colleagues, but of the students as well.

This academic year, Maxime took on the huge responsibility of teaching the SEA class. She had developed a close relationship with these students whom she had also taught in Standard Four and was determined to see them through to success in their examination next year. Her dedication was without question, as she worked right up to the time of her passing.

Always very punctual at school, she would be the first on staff to arrive and would set the tone by playing inspirational music that was projected throughout the building, as she distributed school meals and ensured that those students who arrived early were properly supervised.

Maxime was an active member of the St Joseph’s RC Church, Mon Repos practically all her life and served for many years as a lector and in the hospitality ministry. As a member of that community myself, it would be hard to forget her smiles and diligence as she carried out her stewardship of time and talent.

Our prayers and best wishes continue to be with the Holder family and all those who are dear to her. Rest in eternal peace, Maxime, as you take your place amongst the angels. You will be sorely missed.
