She got up and waited on them.
Luke 4:38-44
Our gospel reading today points us to several actions of Jesus. He was at the Synagogue. He was healing people suffering from many kinds of sickness. He went to a solitary place to connect with the Father. Then continued His preaching in the Synagogues in Galilee.
What does this mean to us? In any given day we are called upon to do several things, but at all times we must make time for people. This passage gives us a guide of what serving others should be like. It is instructive how immediately upon being healed Peter’s mother in law waited upon them. Yes, the lesson here is that we must be able to use our daily blessing to serve others especially at this time. Finally, we must keep in mind the purpose of our mission to be missionary disciples.
Let us ask God for His guidance to spread the Word by the way we live.
