Our Archdiocese over the past few years has been emphasizing making disciples, people on mission, called to learn, experience, witness, share the Good News. Philip shows us how to call persons to Jesus. Instead of arguing about Nazareth, he invites rather than imposes. “Come and see”. Nathaniel/Bartholomew shows us how we become a disciple by responding to the invitation.
I remember being invited into a study group for a deeper encounter with Good News of Jesus of Nazareth. Skeptical, like Nathaniel, I went. I learned, experienced, shared, witnessed, it transformed my life. Over the years I have met persons who work in depressed communities where people ask “can anything good can from there”. Very often the answer is “yes”. We have many Nazareth communities here producing persons who have made significant contributions to the development and growth of our country, their community and the lives of others. These prophets have been instruments, bringing others to realise their full potential, uniting heaven and earth.
Lord grant us an open heart and mind so we can truly see you in all people.
