ST LUCIA
Archbishop Robert Rivas OP of Castries has announced that plans to gather the Church in an Archdiocesan Assembly later this year, November 12–15, are moving apace.
As such, the Church released a promotional song and jingle during the 10 a.m. Mass on August 16, to jumpstart an awareness campaign aimed at building momentum towards the Assembly.
In a release dated August 14, the Archbishop explained that the song and jingle both amplify the theme of the Assembly—One Body, One Spirit, One Hope, One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism (based on Ephesians 4: 4–5).
The words and melody for the song and jingle were composed by the Archbishop and the musical arrangement was done the Babonneau youth church choir.
The Archbishop presided over the Mass at the Church of The Good Shepherd, Babonneau and led the activities of the launch.
Members of the Assembly Planning committee were present, and Catholics throughout the Archdiocese participated virtually in both televised and livestreamed transmissions.
The release of the song and jingle on Sunday was aired regularly on traditional and social media. It will now become a part of the life of all the parishes until the hosting of the assembly, the release said.
It noted that with this event, the Church will close its Synod process which began in 2008–2009 and will launch its way forward for the Church in St Lucia, for the next five years with its Integrated Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan (IAPP).
“This will have communications as a key component, which will enable the Church to improve its overall communications with internal and external audiences,” the release ended.
