July 13th: We go fight eh

I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

Matthew 10: 34 – 11:1

While the Black Lives Matter movement was taking wings all over the world, many Catholics stayed quiet.  People  said our image of  Jesus Christ was flawed and we got even quieter. Many times Catholics shirk away from dealing with real social issues instead for fighting for what’s right.  Many say they are on the side of peace and stick their heads in the sand.

Social injustice of any kind leads to social injustice of every kind.  Jesus didn’t come to sit on the side line and request peace, he came to bring the sword too.  You  can not say that you want to be like Jesus and be an onlooker to injustice because someone you love have perpetrated it for years. You must stand up  against anything  that you know that is not true to the teachings of Christ. Be the sword.

Sometimes the Jesus of your situation is the one who nearly mash up the temple because of what was really happening there.
