Your will be done.
Matthew 6: 7 – 15
The ‘Our Father’ is my favourite prayer. It covers everything from daily needs, obedience to God’s will, forgiveness and security. What more could I really ask for?
At different times in my life I focus on different aspects of the prayer. In my youth, I had a lot of unmanaged anger, so forgiveness was important. During my first year working abroad and praying my card goes through at the grocery store, my daily needs were most important.
Now I find myself focusing on “Your will be done’. Adulting is hard. I find myself at decision making crossroads more often than ever. Discerning God’s will and hoping that He guides my choices so that I may lead a life pleasing to Him is truly an up-hill battle.
Above all, the ‘Our Father’ gives me Trust in the Lord. I pray that through this daily prayer that I may always find peace and security.
