One-week Laudato Si’ Online Youth programme

Catholic youth 18 to 25 years in Trinidad and Tobago, and Grenada have been invited to participate in the Laudato Si’ Online Youth Programme this week, May 24–28. It follows activities of Laudato Si’ Week, May 16–23, to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Pope Francis’ encyclical on the environment.

The programme is a collaborative effort between The Franciscan Institute for Personal and Family Development, a ministry of the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother and the Catholic Youth Commission of the Archdiocese of Port of Spain.

In alignment with the Archdiocese’s food security project, the youth participants would be encouraged to partake in a home gardening project.

The Laudato Si’ Online Youth Programme structure follows the ‘See, Judge, Act’ model of Catholic Social Teaching.

The Laudato Si’ Week journey includes:

  • Reflect and prepare through online trainings – May 16–23
  • Join the worldwide Day of Prayer – May 24
  • Laudato Si’ Online Youth Programme – May 24–28

The programme ends with a creative ‘Show and Tell’ of the youth’s home gardening project in support of the Archdiocese’s initiatives.
