May 6th: Light of Faith

I have come as light into the world so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness”.

John 12:44-50

Faith is the lighted match that illumines the darkness in my soul. Like a pebble thrown into a lake that creates a rippling effect, the light quickly spreads to my external environment and provides the coping mechanism for my everyday life- my daily bread. Without even realizing it, I have Hope. Hope of salvation, protection, provision and deliverance; just as God promised.

When He said I have come as light,  Jesus is fulfilling the Creation story. (Then God said let there be light and there was light” Genesis:1:3)

Now I am faced with work where I have no control over what is happening and yet I am accountable for children’s educational needs, security etc…I see Jesus standing in the midst with arms outstretched saying, “I have come Marissa to be your light, for you and all who place their Hope in Me”.
