The God who walked alongside sits with us at table, a companion and friend; where hope returns and new journeys begin.
Luke 24: 13-35
Without Jerusalem, there is no Emmaus. Only those who bend under the weight of the Cross and know the grief and sorrow of Jerusalem will enter the path that leads to healing and new life. Where there is no journey there can be no arrival.
Journeys! We never walk alone: the steps we take, the gifts we share along the way, daily obstacles that direct us onto new paths and the God who walks beside us, patiently guiding our tired feet as we make our way to Emmaus.
Emmaus! More, much more than a place of rest and shelter from the noon-day heat, where we lay our burdens down; where scattered fragments of our lives join hands, and are once more joyful together; where the broken bread is shared and the cup of hope is never empty; where the God who walked alongside sits with us at table, a companion and friend; where hope returns and new journeys begin. Emmaus!
