Archdiocesan HSE team appointed

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has prompted the need for a structured approach to successfully manage the challenges that come with this coronavirus. To this end, Archbishop Jason Gordon has appointed a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) team to support the people of our Archdiocese.

The overall role of the HSE team incorporates the responsibility for planning, implementing, monitoring and optimising operational processes in the areas of Health Protection, Occupational Safety and Environmental Management throughout the Archdiocese.

However, the immediate focus of the HSE team is that of equipping the staff of the Archdiocese with a framework to provide them with factual, relevant information on a timely basis, on the subject of COVID-19.

Archbishop Jason Gordon said, “I envisage that having been established in advance of any future needs, the team will be able to function in a proactive manner and so be effective when dealing with any eventuality.

A key objective of the team will be the wellness of our staff.”

The Archbishop described the team as a “multi-disciplined one” that will work to ensure that all staff of the Archdiocese, including those in the Chancery, Commissions, Parishes, Religious and Ecclesiastical Communities and all Catholic organisations “understand the requirements for operating in these times in which we live”.
