April 2nd: The Word of God is Truth

If anyone keeps my word, he will never experience death 

John 8:51-59

These words “if anyone keeps my word, he will never experience death”, was quite a challenge to the Jews. They knew that Abraham and the prophets had died, but here was Jesus saying this to them. He must be insane.

This takes me to the present time and the panicking among so many, including Christians. On the many chat groups that I am part of, although people are saying  to pray, and post prayers, you can feel the anxiety. The fear of death is in the air, especially where globally, the death figure has spiralled.

I believe that God is saying to mankind, “Come back to me, give me more of your time, keep My Word.” Yes quarantine is the order of the day forced by Civic ruling, but I see the Hand of God.

In spite of the many negatives, I believe in the long run the positive take-away will be numerous, including family life,  time for God, and caring for each other.

Father help us to trust your Word and prepare for eternal life. Amen
