Healing family life

Why does your family have secrets? Why are you closer to some family members than others? How did your mother and father handle conflict? Is there alienation of certain family members in your family? Are there topics you never talk about in your family?

The Archdiocesan Family Life Commission will be hosting the Mercy Center from Colorado, USA to conduct two workshops over three days (Friday, January 17 to Sunday 19) from 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Seminary of St John Vianney, Mt St Benedict.

The workshops are:

Exploration of the Genogram: healing family relationships

The Genogram is a family map which can reveal how many personality traits, behaviours and interests are passed on from generation to generation. It is used by many psychologists in evaluating the origins of co-dependent behaviours. The Genogram will allow you to participate in the healing of your family system and bring the gifts of well-being and wholeness to each person within the family system.

My Mercy Life Line

Mercy Life Line is a tool used to capture significant events that have formed and shaped your spiritual life journey.

Pope Francis on the Feast of the Holy Family in 2018 shared advice for healing family wounds. “Opening up to others, understanding the reasons of others, this attitude is important for healing compromised relationships among people, and it is also indispensable for healing open wounds within the family.”

This three-day experience costs: $300 per person (daily commute) and includes lunch. In order to attend persons must pre-register online.
