Young artist: answer the ‘Call on Canvas’

What is Call on Canvas?

The Call on Canvas Archdiocesan Art Competition aims to marry creativity with spirituality and theology. Participants will be given opportunities to reflect on the lives to which persons have been called by God, and to develop their fine art talents. Our hope is that participants will express and share their talents through the competition.

Who can participate in Call on Canvas?

The competition comprises two categories. Category 1: 11–17 years and Category 2: 18–35 years, willing to turn to the Bible and the lives of saints for contemplation and inspiration.

Do you have to be Catholic to participate?

No, you do not have to be Catholic to participate. All are invited to register.

When is the registration?

The registration deadline is December 15, 2019.

What is the submission deadline for your completed artwork?

Submission of your original and completed artwork with entry form should be done by January 15, 2020.

What should inspire your work of art?

Each artist is asked to render artwork inspired by the lives of men and women who have been called by God in the Christian tradition. Men and women have been called by God in many ways and at different times in their respective lives. These calls represent opportunities for growth and a closer relationship with God but also the beginning of trying times in which each of these persons experience struggles.
