50 years of CCR

GUYANA

As Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) Guyana celebrated its 50th anniversary, the movement prayed that the Holy Spirit will infuse the hearts of their brothers and sisters,

inspire them to experience a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit and a deeper relationship with Him.

Under the theme Come bow down and worship before our God (Ps 95:6–7), the celebration began with the usual

Novena to the Holy Spirit during the period October 21–29.

Guest speakers were Fr Ian Taylor and Deborah de Rosia from the Archdiocese of Port of Spain.

Catholic Standard said that the speakers expounded well on the theme reminding those gathered that they must worship God every day in all that they do and say, that God loves them unconditionally and that He should be loved in return.

As part of the jubilee celebration, a Day of Revival was held at the Marian Academy Saturday, October 26. A couple hundred attended and experienced a day filled with blessings.

There was recitation of the rosary, dynamic preaching, powerful praise and worship, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, sticking of the 50th anniversary cake, testimonies, prayer and prophecy, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and ministry.

The “hunger for God” was noticeable, as daily the people attended the Novena to offer up their prayers in relation to their various challenges and trials.
