Msgr George Bardowell, affectionately known as ‘Fr George’ celebrated his 90th birthday Tuesday, October 1. Msgr Bardowell, who was born in Jamaica, has been a long-serving priest in the Kingstown diocese for over two decades. The website of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kingstown, catholicsvg.org said that Fr George has given sterling service to the Catholic Church and even as his health declines, he continues to minister to God’s people in various ways as his health permits.
To celebrate the occasion, a Mass at the Cathedral of the Assumption, Kingstown was held Friday, October 4 followed by a reception.
