Congratulations

Catholic News extends sincere congratulations to Dr Hollis Liverpool and Sr Phyllis Wharfe SJC on their recognition at this year’s national award ceremony on Tuesday, Republic Day.

Her Excellency, President Paula-Mae Weekes conferred the nation’s highest honour, the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (ORTT) on Dr Liverpool, well known in the Calypso world as ‘Chalkdust’, for “distinguished and outstanding service”.

Sr Phyllis, a former principal of St Joseph’s Convent, San Fernando, was the recipient of the Public Service Medal of Merit (Gold) for her contribution to education and the empowerment of young women.

Both have contributed to Catholic education over the years, and their contributions and submissions have appeared on the pages of Catholic News.
