Welcome to St Joseph’s RC, Scarborough

Some members of the Hospitality Ministry

St Joseph’s RC Church, Scarborough was the venue for a very enjoyable hospitality weekend hosted on both Saturday, May 18 and Sunday 19.

Due to its resounding success through the years, this activity has become a much-anticipated fixture on the calendar of events at our church, and in keeping with the major pastoral initiative this year by focusing on the 3 Hs—Hymns, Homilies and Hospitality, we knew we were on the right track.

The members of the hospitality ministry looked very smart in their newly acquired uniforms, aquamarine shirts and black pants, as they served love plates of sweet bread, cakes, pastries and pies and generous servings of fruit followed by cold drinks or a hot cup of tea to all present.

These were all graciously received by parishioners and visitors alike, who dined in a tastefully decorated ambiance in the parish hall and were able to meet, mix and mingle in a spirit of friendship and brotherhood.

Hats off to Beverly (who is a member) for a job well done at transforming the dining space. When everyone was fed and satisfied, members tidied up the parish hall and restored it to its former state.

We at the Hospitality Ministry of St Joseph’s RC continue to work together as a team to be the welcoming arm of the Church to all who visit our worship space. We do believe that being hospitable to all churchgoers is a valid requirement in making people feel loved and appreciated, and wanting to return. With this in mind…Stay tuned for our Hospitality Weekend 2020. — Hospitality Ministry, St Joseph’s RC, Scarborough
