Thank you and farewell, Fr Baskar

Fr Antony Baskar Jayaseelan

After ten years of committed service to the Archdiocese, Fr Antony Baskar Jayaseelan MSFS, will be transferred to another appointment.

Better known as Fr Antony or Fr Baskar, he also served as the local Superior of the Missionaries of St Francis de Sales (MSFS).

We are very grateful for the Sacramental ministry and work done in the parish communities of St Vincent Ferrer, Moruga and the cluster communities of Point Fortin/Cedros, La Brea and South Oropouche. Fr Baskar would have served there as Parish Priest and Moderator respectively.

The physical improvements and enhancement made to many of the buildings and churches in these parishes and the cultural differences shared over the years of his missionary presence, would certainly serve as reminders of Fr Baskar’s contribution to the growth of the people of the Archdiocese.
As he leaves on (Friday) April 26 for a new assignment to Indonesia, we pray God’s blessing on him, his travels and continued ministry in the service of God’s Kingdom.

This we do on behalf of His Grace, Archbishop Jason Gordon, the clergy and religious and the entire people of God in the Archdiocese.

Msgr Esau Joseph and Fr Steve Duncan
Episcopal Vicars for Clergy.
