Youth Explosion 2019

The youth pray for Venezuela and its citizens.

St Patrick’s ‘Youth Explosion 2019’ took place last weekend, Friday March 8 to Sunday 10 at Constantine Park, Tunapuna.

The youth of St Patrick’s prayed together, laid hands on our Venezuelan brothers and sisters, and begged the Holy Spirit to intervene in their country, so they could call it home once again.

They danced to the music of Iconic–The Band, led by Ethan-John Da Silva, Sergio and Sherissa Camejo. They dramatised the Passion of Jesus, and prayed the rosary during the candlelight procession.

Awe inspiring was the music of the Magnificent Ms, and the preaching of Matthew Howell-Paul, who was instrumental in procuring Lenten pledges relating to social media. First Year Confirmation candidates Matthew Ramsaran and Isaiah Fernandes preached the gospel.

Fr Gabriel Julien gave a dramatic lesson on sin and the significance of ashes, during our three-hour Mass on the Sunday, which attracted the undivided attention of all the young people gathered at the park.

We thank sincerely all the young people who attended from San Fernando, Siparia, St Michael’s, St Francis-Belmont, Arima and of course, the St Patrick youth.
Well done! On to Youth Explosion 2020! —Jessica Chin
