The 8th Divine Mercy Conference will be March 16–17 at University Inn and Conference Center, St Augustine Circular Rd, St Augustine.
Feature speakers this year are Fr (Padre) Martín Scott, founder of the missionary religious community Siervos de la Divina Misericordia (Servants of Divine Mercy) in Chosica, Peru; and Nicaragua-born Mother Adela Galindo, who in 1990, founded the religious congregation Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary in the Archdiocese of Miami.
Archbishop Jason Gordon will open the conference with Mass on the Saturday from 9 a.m. The day’s theme is Are you sleeping? Stay awake! Be prepared! (Mt 25:13). Speaking on Saturday will be Frs Matthew d’Hereaux, Trevor Nathasingh and Scott . There will also be Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3 p.m., followed by a talk by Mother Adela titled ‘Stay awake – Prayer, the life of the soul’ and a healing service.
Sunday’s theme is In me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (Jn 16:33). Fr Scott will give three talks centred on God’s mercy, the Eucharist, the Blessed Virgin Mary; and ‘We were created for Heaven’.
From 2.30 p.m., there will be a Holy Hour of Reparation and Lamentation, including the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu will be the main celebrant at the closing Mass. Divine Mercy Sunday is April 28.
