Some parishioners of St Joseph the Worker RC Church, Brasso Seco visited the home of Francisca Estrada on January 26 who celebrated her 103rd birthday. She received Holy Communion from parish priest Fr Kenneth Assing.
We prayed, sang hymns and even presented her with a bouquet of flowers and a birthday card which was signed by members of the Blanchisseuse parish. She was overjoyed.
Francisca, known by all as ‘Ma’ is the mother of ten children, 30+ grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. She has always been a very kind, generous and loving person not forgetting how faithful she was and still is to her faith.
Francisca is unable to walk but her memory is very good. She gives words of wisdom to all—men, women and children. Her advice to pupils of the Brasso Seco RC Primary School was to get an education because it is the only way out of poverty. They too, prayed with, sang for, and gifted her with a fruit basket.
She has always been hardworking and has lived well with others which is why God has blessed her with long life. MP for the area and Minister of Education Anthony Garcia also paid her a visit along with many other residents.
On behalf of the Brasso Seco Paria community we wish you a ‘Happy Birthday’ and God’s richest blessings.—Jennessa De Ramos
