Co-founders thankful

Co-foundress of Zion RC Community, Mary Margaret Woods believes that God called the community into being from the beginning. He fashioned them in their mother’s womb, and gifted them with many gifts so that when the moment came 39 years ago, they were able to say ‘Yes’ to Him.

“And God kept faithful to us even as we sought to be faithful to Him…. We recommit our lives to Him for the years to come,” Woods said on the occasion of Zion’s 39th anniversary Mass held last Saturday at their Marabella Centre.

In offering brief remarks, Mary Baptiste, fellow co-founder, moderator and counsellor, said that her greatest privilege is to be called by God to live as a single consecrated woman in community. She told Catholic News that the Community received “many graces” from God and they consider the call and journey a blessing.

She added other privileges include building the Archdiocese of Port of Spain through the different ministries as it allowed Zion RC Community to work with others in the Southern Vicariate and other parts of T&T.

Zion RC Community was founded by Woods, Baptiste and Janet James (deceased).
