Youth art on display

Christiana Mckie, a student of St Theresa Girls’ RC and a member of St John the Baptist RC Church stands under one of her pieces of the Ministry of Community, Development, Culture and the Arts ‘National Colour Me Trinbago’ competition. She won in the Environmental Category.

According to a Newsday report, Angela Edwards, the permanent secretary in the Ministry, told students art reflects education but more importantly civilisation. Edwards said the Ministry’s 2019 calendar, to be called ‘Colours of Trinbago’, will highlight the nation’s patriotic spirit through art and other cultural events.

The ‘National Colour Me Trinbago’ art exhibition is currently available for viewing at the National Museum and Arts Gallery, Frederick Street, Port of Spain until January 20.
